After many friends have embarked upon the blogging trail, I have finally decided to join them - albeit a little late to the game. Up until now, I have resisted the urge to bore anyone but me with my random thoughts, but when I looked at all the attention that Paris Hilton is receiving for her latest brush with the law, I decided that enough was enough - I had to enter the fray.
First ... WHO CARES what Paris, or Lindsay Lohan, or any other celebrity (and I use that term loosely) does in their spare time, or with their spare change? I am NOT interested in the details of their latest meltdown, breakdown, pat down - whatever downer they find themself in.
Second ... There are so many people of significance, doing inspirational things in this world. There are people like you and me overachieving every day to bring clean water to those in need, to free girls and women from human trafficking, or to rebuild earthquake stricken areas like Haiti. They are far more worthy of our thoughts, our energies and our interest. Why do we focus on individuals with a penchant for ignorance, ill-behaving and the illegal?
Third ... Let's turn off the television when crap like "Entertainment Tonight," and "TMZ"zzzzzzzzz comes on. Isn't it enough that these people are acting like fools in real time? Do we really need to tape delay it to bring their foolishness to the masses? I think not.
Well, none of these thoughts are life-changing, but they are mine, and they are random. So I guess that works for this blog. Let me know what you think!
